EDUCLIMB and Fun+: Luxov Diversifies

LUXOV, a French company specializing in playful and climbing innovations, continues to grow. At the recent Climbing Exhibition in Paris, it unveiled two new products with the potential to appeal to a broad audience: EDUCLIMB and FUN+. Here’s a closer look.

Following on from the Gamingboard, – a climbing wall equipped with illuminated and tactile handholds, dedicated to interactive games – LUXOV is launching two new products this year: EDUCLIMB and FUN +. The aim? To reach out to new audiences, and in particular the educational world, by using its technology to help people learn to climb.

Educlimb: A tool Designed for Teachers

EDUCLIMB has been designed with education in mind. Thanks to its intuitive interface and tactile holds, it should make life easier for teachers, offering them blocks by level and allowing them to easily create their own personalised climbing routes.

There’s no doubt that it should quickly find its place in the sports facilities of schools, colleges and universities. There is a great need for learning, and at the same time, the time available to teachers to prepare their lessons and create boulders onto their walls is limited. So this is a real step forward in terms of teaching. Because every teacher can select boulders that are all learning situations, in order to develop the desired skills. Improving foot placement, perfecting support transfers, moving towards imbalance and dynamic movements…

In practical terms, Educlimb uses the same technology as the Gamingboard. It’s called LUXOV TWICE®, and it provides a dual light and touch reaction to the holds. Thanks to this combination, it’s possible to open a variety of boulders, for all levels, for an innovative climbing experience.

Luxov Fun and Fun+: an interactive, modular climbing and leisure experience

In addition to EDUCLIMB, LUXOV is launching a second product this year: FUN+. It is aimed at both children and adults, but with a distinct approach.

With LUXOV FUN, which has already been adopted by the Picardia Games Park leisure complex and the Les Chats Perchés climbing gym in Perpignan, climbing becomes a real interactive playground. This system of illuminated, scenic holds encourages climbers to use their imagination. Some of the holds change colour with each touch, while others can be seen as flames that need to be extinguished before they light up again… All in a modular configuration that can be customised to suit the space available.

The FUN+ is a first approach to the GAMINGBOARD, with a more accessible installation and a turnkey concept. It comes in a pack of 30 holds, to be placed anywhere on the wall, and includes an interactive mini-game to choose from the LUXOV catalogue. A simple Start/Stop control hold starts and stops the game. The system also includes :

• A score display
• A time display
• An immersive audio system
• A game card

The games on offer include mechanics inspired by arcade classics, such as ‘Pop the Balloon’, where climbers have to touch an increasing number of holds to progress to the next level. Other games are available as options to enhance the experience.
